Creating Diversity Through Art
My father immersed my life in an ocean of poetry and literature. If my mother didn’t insist, “A poet doctor helps the society better than a poet”, maybe I would have chosen literature. But fate put me on a different path and gave me other abilities. Like any other human being, I have been placed in this world with a purpose. Those who came into my life taught me a great lesson and became real heroes of my life.
In the passage of time, the poetry of life merged into my soul. Music became the food of my soul, the song of peace of my being. Art polished my being.
I am not a poet, because the meaning of a poet is beyond a heavy and pleasant writing.
I write stories from the heart, sometimes in rhyme and sometimes in prose, sometimes coherent and sometimes discrete. I write the white and poetic poetry, which is the peace of my soul. I become the mirror of my heart, I tell the untold story secretly, and sometimes I write a short story, maybe it is the hope and peace for someone else’s heart.
It is as if a prayer, a morning prayer, a mantra, or rather a love has been with me all my life. The best people became a ring of light, made the sky of my life rain stars, and taught me that humanity is the secret of immortality.
I still have to learn. Thirstier than ever, I go to the fountain of knowledge of the elders. I am an apprentice and I learn something new every day and I understand how little I know…

Testimonial
Yesterday, after my appointment, Dr. Sherkat kindly showed me your website, which is a real joy to explore. I know that you are a vibrant poet, but I did not know that you are a visual and musical artist as well as a literary one! Your paintings are beautiful -- delicate but also powerful in their appeal.
It is also a treat to listen to the videos of your singing and drumming. You are clearly a "Renaissance woman", who superbly combines the arts and sciences, the poetic and the practical! May I wish you all the best in your writing, painting, and music-making! These, too, are my main interests and I feel that we share this "language of the heart"!
I consider it a privilege to have had Dr. Sherkat as my dentist for the past 25 years, and I continue to recommend him to others. Your office is always a place of warm welcome and cheerful care. You and your excellent team definitely take the D for "dread" out of Dentistry and replace it with D for "delight"!!
Most sincerely,
M. Joan Chard
