Artist Biography: Dr Zohreh Ansari Celebrating Diversity Through Art
Artist Statement
Zohreh Ansari, a multi-talented individual, resides in picturesque West Vancouver, where she balances her roles as a dedicated dentist, mother of two, painter, author, writer, calligrapher and musician. With a rich Iranian heritage and a long-standing connection to Canada, Zohreh embodies the fusion of cultures and ideas that inform her artistic practice.
Zohreh is not only a passionate artist but also a lifelong learner. Her educational journey includes certifications in Teaching and Learning Programs, Trauma-Informed Care, Indigenous Cultural Safety, and Life Coaching. Currently, she serves as a faculty member and Clinical Instructor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry, where her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the prestigious Faculty Teaching Award, consecutively for many years.
Beyond her professional life, Zohreh actively contributes to her community. She has been a board member of various organizations, including the Canadian Iranian Foundation and A Persian Celebration Fundraiser for Lionsgate Hospital. Her dedication extends to the world of media, as she has co-hosted Parvaz TV's programs and currently hosts the health talk show program "Kimiye Salamat" which means “Health Alchemist”.
Zohreh Ansari's diverse interests are reflected in her hobbies, ranging from watercolor and Acrylic paintings, writing poetry and playing traditional Persian music to dancing and teaching children various skills, including writing, singing, and solfeggio.

Artistic Career
In her artistic journey, Zohreh explores artistic nature paintings, Persian literature and poetry, accompanied by her enchanting vocal performances. She skillfully plays musical instruments such as the Daf (Persian drum), Piano, Setar (Persian guitar), and traditional Iranian melodies. Her performances, including MC roles at galas and vocal performances at esteemed venues like Kay Meek Centre and Gloria Dei Church, have left a lasting impression on her audiences.

Zohreh Ansari’s artistic talents extend beyond the canvas and stage. She has authored two books, showcasing her literary prowess:

Community Engagement
In addition to her remarkable artistic and professional endeavors, Zohreh Ansari is deeply committed to community service. Her extensive contributions span over two decades and encompass a wide range of initiatives. Zohreh has generously shared her expertise by delivering lectures on dental health, addressing common dental and health questions, and alleviating fears associated with dentistry. Her dedication extends to supporting seniors through volunteer programs, fostering cultural activities within the Iranian-Canadian community, and actively participating in fundraising efforts for scholarships. Furthermore, Zohreh’s compassion shines through her volunteer work with special needs children at Sunny Hill Hospital and Center for Ability, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to the betterment of her community.
